"And it came to pass that I, Nephi, beheld the power of the Lamb of God,
that it descended upon the saints of the church of the Lamb,
and upon the covenant people of the Lord,
who were scattered upon all the face of the earth;
and they were armed with righteousness
and with the power of God in great glory."

JUNE 23, 2014

Ciudadela Ward, El Carmen Stake
Companion:  Elder Villarreal

Hey everyone,

This was a pretty eventful week for us.  To start, Elder Villarreal got sick and we had to go to the hospital.  I guess sometime during the beginning of the week he ate something with milk which he wasn't supposed to do because he is lactose intolerant.  So he was pretty much bed ridden for 3 days and we couldn't do too much.  But I think all is well with him now.  It's crazy to think that he will be in his home in 2 days!

Along with that, I will be getting a new companion this week. I'm not sure who it will be but I find out tonight.

Also this week our investigators, Y-------- and M-------- got married and baptized!  We got special permission to go to their wedding too which was way cool!  I'll include some pics!

The wedding was in the public court like building. Very awesome!  It was just us two missionaries, Y-------- and M--------, and P-------- and Y--------, Y--------'s brother and sister in-law who live with them and are already members.

Very fun though!  They took us to eat afterwards in the mall.  Also in the mall there was a Cinemark movie theater, I didn't know they had that here!

The baptism was great too!  P-------- got to baptize his brother and M--------.  It was his first time performing a baptism!  We also baptized G--------, the mother of C-------- and P-------- whom we baptized 2 weeks ago, and D-------- and S--------, the two youngest kids in the family.

D-------- is so short that the water nearly came up to his neck when he got in the water.  He was nervous about the water so I carried him from the side to the water!  All went well!  The only bad thing that happened was that when we went to fill up the font the first time the water had worms in it which was pretty gross.  So we cleaned it and filled it again.

Colombia played again this week and they won!  The streets were so crazy and music was blaring all night long!  Parties and parties were everywhere!  Futbol or soccer (nobody lets me call it soccer here) is really big and i would say is part of the culture here.  Everyone talks about it here in the church and out!  Just everyone!  It's fun though.  This morning we went and played a little bit of soccer at the church with some members.

Also I will include pics from our last district meeting!

Well another eventful week!  Have a great week!  Love and miss you all!
