"Dear Elder Crandall: you are hereby called to serve as a missionary
for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

It is anticipated that you will serve a period of 24 months...
You will prepare to preach the gospel in the Spanish Language."

"And it came to pass that I, Nephi, beheld the power of the Lamb of God,
that it descended upon the saints of the church of the Lamb,
and upon the covenant people of the Lord,
who were scattered upon all the face of the earth;
and they were armed with righteousness
and with the power of God in great glory."

JUNE 9, 2014

Ciudadela Ward, El Carmen Stake
Companion:  Elder Villarreal

Hey everyone,

Hope all is well. Another week here in Barranquilla, Colombia has gone by fast and all is well here. The missionary work of spreading the gospel is speeding up! Way neat!

Well a funny thing happened last Monday. So about an hour into my sleep Elder Villarreal wakes me up and tells me to look at the window. I looked and a cat was creeping in through the open window and onto the sill inside our house, haha!   I started laughing and got up to scare him away. I think he has been hanging around our house for a while and finally tried to come in! Too funny.

So this week we did have the baptisms of J-------- and K--------. It was really sweet and nothing really went bad happened like the last time! The only thing was that we had a bunch of scheduling conflicts and meetings and an English class to teach but it really all worked out in the end. I'll include some pictures. The lady in the middle is a recent convert named E-------- and she gave us the referral and helped us teach. She owns a pizzaria and sometimes gives us free pizza. Way cool!

Also this week we started teaching the parents of a missionary in our ward that just left for his mission in Santa Cruz Bolivia. They are really nice and sweet. So it will be cool to help them come unto the gospel. Also this upcoming week we are planning on having the baptisms of G--------'s family but we´re not entirely sure what will happen. I guess we´ll just have to wait and see!

Well something this week i was thinking about is faith. Wow, how faith is really prevelant in nearly every aspect of our lives! Like faith is so much more than just believing, faith is acting, faith is obedience, faith is hope, faith is calmness, faith is happiness, and so much more! If we just work on our faith and on the important things in life then i promise we can be so much happier and at ease.

Well I love you all and hope you have a great week!
